Upland Bible Church is a non-denominational, autonomous local church. Our doctrinal statement includes the following:

  • We believe that salvation is by grace; that is, salvation is by faith alone in Christ alone apart from any and all works. (Eph. 2:8-9)
  • We believe that once saved, the believer has eternal security and therefore can never lose his salvation; (Jn. 5:24, 10:27-29; Rom. 8:1, 38-39; Jude 24-25)
  • We believe that spirituality is the status that exists when a believer is filled (or) controlled by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, spirituality describes the status of the believer in fellowship with God. The opposite status is carnality or the believer out of fellowship with God, controlled by his sin nature. The spiritual Christian becomes a carnal Christian by committing personal sins (mental attitude sins, sins of the tongue, overt sins). The carnal Christian is restored to spirituality (or) the filling and control of the Holy Spirit by simply confessing his sins to his heavenly Father. The filling of the Holy Spirit is commanded by God in the Bible. It is imperative that the believer be filled (or) controlled by the Holy Spirit for (1) learning the Word of God, and (2) living the spiritual life. (Eph. 5:18; Gal. 5:16; I Jn. 1:9)

Christian Growth
We believe that the number one priority for the believer is Christian growth. This is accomplished by consistently learning, believing, and applying Bible Doctrine taught by the Pastor. (2 Pet. 3:18; I Thess. 5:12-13; Heb. 13:17; Eph. 4:11-16)

We believe that Upland Bible Church is to be a group of born-again believers in Christ, united by the Spirit, who assemble together for:

  • Instruction in the Word of God;
  • Prayer;
  • The Ordinance of the Lord's Supper

Courtesy
Respect for the Word of God demands good manners when it is being taught. There should be no talking or unnecessary movement which would disturb the concentration of others.

If you are an unbeliever, that is, you have never trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior, then the good news for you is:

“Believe in the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved . . .” (Acts 16:31)

“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” ( Jn. 1:12)

“These have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His Name.” (Jn. 20.31)

If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, but you are out of fellowship with God because of sin in your life, then the Word of God says to you:

“If we confess our sins. He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 Jn. 1:9)

As a believer, God wants you to grow up spiritually by consistently learning, believing and applying His Word to your life:

“But grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (2 Pet. 3:18)

“Not forsaking our own assembling together as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another.” (Heb. 10:25)

“All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness: that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the Word of Truth.” (2 Tim. 2:15)
